Uruguayan Mathías Duarte is having the best year of his career and he proved it once again yesterday when he won a side event at EPT Barcelona 2023.

This is an Event #5 No-Limit Hold’em Mystery Bounty with 79 entries worth €10,200, with €371,300 ($403,881) allocated to the top 11 players. Nine-time bracelet winner Erik Seidel was one of the finalists, finishing in sixth place and winning €22,700 ($24,692).

Mathias Duarte defeated England’s Conor Beresford in heads-up play to win the top prize of €104,500 ($113,670). The mystery bounty he captured included a €50,000 bounty, and he earned a total of €87,500. Last year he finished 9th in this event, earning €10,840.

In 2023, Mathías had 5 cashes (2 at the WSOP), 3 final tables, and 2 titles, earning $250,221. His other final tables came on the Enjoy Poker Tour in February, where he finished third in the High Roller for $33,465 and won the Main Event for $81,345. With these results, his live tournament winnings increased to $453,000 and he climbed to 12th on Uruguay’s all-time money list.
